Growing up as the son of Indian immigrants in the heart of southern United States ensured that my life has been a pastiche of contradictory cultures. And this has been the greatest contributing factor to my personal growth. As a junior at Vanderbilt University, I am a brother of Phi Gamma Delta fraternity but also an active participant in the annual Diwali celebrations on campus; and I have been able to channel the combination of my ancestry and my upbringing into Chachii.com - which is a unique combination of a very Western concept in Indian packaging. For me, Chachii is both a social and entreprenurial venture. I feel like the Indian urban populace is just as ready as any Western counterpart to accept and integrate such a service into their lives. To contact me, find me on any social network - Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. |
Writing an autobiographical 'about me' seems to portray the notion that there is a unifying theme to my life - sadly, there isn't. As a rising senior at Bryn Mawr college, my time is occupied doing a eclectic mixture of things - researching recommender systems, working on various startups, presiding over the campus debate society, TA'ing, teaching CS to elementary school girls and so forth. While Web 2.0 tech startups occupy my attention, my real passion lies in female and student empowerment in India and Chachii.com is the most exciting project I have worked on because it encapsulates both my lifelong loves. So watch this space as we roll out a fantastic product in the upcoming months. To contact me, Email me, Tweet, or connect with me on LinkedIn. |

I am someone who lives in the present with very short timelines in mind (something like the next 3 months). I am a Computer Engineer by profession, and then worked in the IT space for 3 years where I designed, developed, deployed and troubleshooted (with issue diagnosis) large scale complex enterprise applications. In addition to this I have built a lot of applications along with a set of friends which are in the open space. Currently I am pursuing an MBA and Chachii.com is another interesting assignement that I am working on. Apart from this, I minutely observe things around me, am an avid reader, a big time Manchester United fan and a big cricket lover(stupid isnt it?, who in India is not). I like going around and exploring new places, not for adventures but for lighter things like food, drinks, partying etc. |
